Safe isolation trainer

Safe isolation slips are among the most common reasons for failing the AM2: leaving the key in the lock, forgetting the warning sign, or not re-proving the tester. Practise until the procedure is automatic.

1. Put the steps in order

Tap the steps in the order you'd do them. Tap "Remove" to take one back.

    2. Spot the mistake

Each scenario is built at random and has exactly one mistake. Find it.

    Remember

"Prove, test, prove": prove the tester, test every combination of conductors, then prove the tester again. Keep the key on you, and always put up a warning label.

This trainer follows HSE guidance GS38 and the procedure taught at college. Always follow your employer's and assessment centre's procedure. Read the full lesson: Safe isolation.
